WAI provided full mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for the modernization study of this existing 388,222 sq. ft. high school. This study included the survey of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems for the high school and the 126,486 sq. ft. middle school located on the high school campus.
The high school was comprised of four buildings: The Main Building, Vocation Training Center, Center for Visual & Performing Arts and the Auditorium. During this assessment WAI: reviewed all documented materials, performed a field study of all MEP systems and equipment, and interviewed the Owner’s facilities and building operation staff. The following systems were assessed: HVAC, plumbing, interior lighting, power distribution, lightning protection, fire suppression, fire alarm, security system, access controls, video surveillance, and IT wiring infrastructure. Following the study, WAI provided a report of all findings and recommendations for 3 different modernization and / or replacement options for Suitland High School.
